a rainy lancaster engagement session <> the pinnacle overlook <> lancaster wedding photographer

A RAINY ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT THE PINNACLE OVERLOOK IN LANCASTER PENNSYLVANIA.

THIS ENGAGEMENT SESSION WAS LITERALLY RESCHEDULED 3 TIMES. ALL OF THEM BECAUSE OF THE SNOW. SO I HAD ZERO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE RAIN WOULDN'T COME OUT TO PLAY FOR THIS ENGAGEMENT SESSION. IT STORMED. WE HAD LIGHTNING. LOUD THUNDER. THE WHOLE SHE-BANG.

FOR THOSE PHOTOGRAPHERS OUT THERE THAT LOVE NATURAL LIGHT, YOU KNOW DARN WELL HOW GORGEOUS IT IS IN THE SUMMER WHEN IT STORMS AND THEN THE SUN COMES OUT. AM I RIGHT? IT SERIOUSLY MADE FOR THE BEST RAINY ENGAGEMENT SESSION. AND THE PINNACLE OVERLOOK, LOCATED IN LANCASTER PENNSYLVANIA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST LOCATION TO EMBRACE ALL KINDS OF WEATHER.

RAINY ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS AREN'T ALWAYS EASY BECAUSE THEY CAN MESS WITH YOUR TIMING, SINCE WERE PLAYING WITH SUNLIGHT. SO HONESTLY, THE STRESS COMES ON ME HARD WHEN BALLS ARE THROWN IN MY WAY. SO I WAS SO BLESSED TO HAVE JENNA AND NICK WHO WERE TOTALLY 100% ON BOARD WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THIS CRAZY ENGAGEMENT SESSION.

AN ELEGANT WINTER WEDDING AT NORMANDY FARMS

Chad and Jessica's elegant winter wedding happened at the gorgeous Normandy Farms, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The sun was shining, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Everyone's energy was so wonderful and caring, which made for a really incredible winter wedding at the ever so stunning Normandy Farms. Chad and Jessica's love and and passion for each other was so obvious. It was stronger than words, and we absolutely loved having the opportunity to photograph this winter wedding. As a wedding photographer, i enjoy details. Thoroughly. I feel like they really complete a story. Its the page bindings. Well, Jessica wanted to surprise Chad by having the Phanatic show up at the reception. To say the least, everyone was shocked and surprised. It was honestly one of the coolest experiences i have experienced while photographing a wedding! We absolutely loved it!

susquehanna style magazine <> weddings in print <> 2017 weddings

this is going an emotional inspirational piece so excuse me while i positive rant.

this coming april it will be a full 5 years (beginning of 6th) that i have legally been in business. back in the spring of 2013, i never ever imagined or even thought out where i would be 5 years down the road. i think, honestly, i never thought i'd amount to anything. but that was because that's what i was telling myself. i just figured i would make enough to get by. i would photograph enough weddings to be able to say i was "experienced" or "established." but never did i ever think that i would make waves, or really find my place in the wedding industry. i had dreams, of course! but those dreams were all fragments of this fantasy world i created.

well, it wasn't until about two years ago when i really started to think more highly of myself. i started to think "hmmm, maybe i've got something here." maybe just maybe i'll make it big, and travel the world. and then in 2017, i did just that. i traveled to freaking france. my dreams started becoming reality. and inch by inch i began to believe in myself a little more. little puffs of dopamine would be released in my brain anytime i would get positive feedback, or a compliment or anything of that sorts. and those words of encouragement and support slowly turned around my view on myself and my business.

the people. you all do not realize that YOU are what keep us going as artists. if were not getting positive feedback on our instagram posts, our stories, our Facebook posts, then we begin to feel inadequate. we begin to question ourselves and analyze every single thing we do. even though we know that "lack" of positive feedback does not mean that we aren't doing well at all what so ever. its just how the artistic brain works. its how we critic ourselves. : i have learned that we cannot do that. and every little inch that we dive further into our businesses and the wedding industry we ARE making impressions. whether we see those impressions and the affects of them. THEY ARE HAPPENING. everywhere. all around you. so when you have an off day with the instagram algorithm, don't doubt yourself. because your still making an affect. one person could have seen that post. and that single photo made a bride fall in love with your work. and boom. she hired you. all from that one photo. get what I'm saying? you must not give up. off days are ok, but giving up days are not excused.

which brings me to this feature. this is really so special for me. this is a local magazine, who only features weddings once a year. and i just so happen to have 2 weddings and a styled look in susquehanna style. :: HOW?! (you may ask. or at least i used to ask myself the same thing back in the day. how the heck are these people getting featured?) WELL ... networking people. NETWORKING. it's all about communicating with vendors who will benefit your business. it's all about making connections with those people. and these connections may me made through other vendors and so on down the line. but the fact of that matter is; you must try. you have to push yourself, and SUBMIT! you never know what an editor is looking for, and what you have may be exactly what they need! how will you know if you don' try? even if you are introverted (which is clearly not me) you need to push yourself to talk with others and create a bubble of people who you can connect with at any given time. you cannot sit around and wait for things to happen. you must REACH OUT and push for what you want. you have to work hard!! and the benefits will come. i swear.

again, a huge thanks to everyone involved in making these features happen. the thanks needs to be given to so many more people than just the photographer. and this goes for every feature.

an intimate small wedding <> trinda & tyler <> historic shady lane

have you ever wondered what it would have been like if you would have chosen to have a small intimate wedding? like, I'm talking 30 guests. well, let me tell you why its so awesome. because its the most chill most relaxed day of all time. the focus is truly on you and your partner. it really gives you time to soak in your day. and personally i think it goes by a lot slower. giving you more time to enjoy it.

trinda and tyler are literally the bestest of friends. i mean the best. there is no denying that they are made for each other. 100%, you can see it just seep out of all pores and in every look they throw at each other. the words they choose to say. the touches they give. it was really incredible to witness, and i am so thankful to have had the chance to photograph these two. <3

fall anniversary session <> hannah & derek <> motorcycles and plaid

when hannah, of sparrow and lace photography, and her husband derek, asked me to photograph their anniversary session i was jumping with joy! hannah is a really incredible photographer and i have actually known her quite some time. and i have known derek too. derek and his friends sat behind me in high school at lunch. and yet here we come full circle years later. the coolest thing.

hannah and derek have something special. its so clear to see. these two have personalities that can light up a room. what they have together can cheer up anyone. and a style thats to die for. it doesn't matter when and where, hannah and derek are best dressed. stylistic lovebirds.

september farm wedding <> noah & ashley <> lakefield weddings

when you think of a september wedding, T H I S is what you should think of. lace, sunflowers and a farm. noah and ashley committed themselves to each other in the presence of their really incredible friends and family. and the love was just pouring out of every slice of the day. the bond these two have is undeniable and i literally cannot wait to see what else life brings them. <3

rosado verde <> personal work

what is life really? people waking up in homes of all sizes, showering to clean our shell, hopping into our little big cars heading to this thing called a job? but all for what? what?? do you love what your life consists of? are you happy with yourself? are you proud to stand for what you stand for? at the end of the day can you say it was a day well spent? and if it was, what made it a day well spent?

this is a look into my brain. constantly. :: this session was impromptu and i am so happy to have been able to work along side Lavender Fox Florals. her soul is in these flowers. you'd be blind if you can't see that.

enjoy.

boho glam wedding <> heather and nathan <> york pa wedding

so, this was a really really special wedding. i mean, really special. when heather and nathan drove from DE to my house for a consultation we connected instantly. they stayed for hours and hours of us just talking about all things life, and my husband even made them dinner. it was epic. they are epic. these two though. the love connection they have is completely undeniable. the feeling you get when they walk into a room .. the air is instantly cleared. they walk with this beautiful bubble around them that is like colorful rainbows and ponies. you could be in the worst mood and  all you need is to spend a minute with them and your whole mood is changed. i could go on and on. they make me so flipping happy. i think you'll be able to tell just by looking at these photos that they are soulmates, and they are meant for SO MUCH in this world. there is a reason for these two. heather and nathan, please know how much freeman and i love you both and how you have touched our lives in so many ways!! this is only the beginning ...
